Turikitatsie
Detail Türi means children and, by extension, family, ki is the house, tatsié means where it is found. Türikitatsié is a sacred spot near the headquarters of the community of Our Mother, otherwise known as Tatei Kié, or San Andrés Cohamiata. This sacred place is where deer hunters and peyote pilgrims gather to do a vigil before undertaking their 'hunt' and they place sacred offerings here, like the bowl that is photographed in this case on a carved flat round stone, called tepari that has carved icons of the sun (Our Father) and of Our Elder Brother Blue Deer (Tamatsi Maxayuawi). The blood, which gives the offering its value, may be noticed on the stone, while the bowl is apparently very traditional since it seems to be made of burnt clay with icons of deer with wild bee's wax enhanced with beads |
