Here we see two different examples of the carrillera, a series of small embroidered or woven bags sewn together to form a belt worn by Wixárika men. The carrillera is worn in addition to the woven wool or cotton belt that is wound several times around the waist. Both of these examples were embroidered using the diagonal stitch and are done in the two point ‘punto de oro’.
