The weaving workshops have the ability to provide the Huichol Communities with excellent cloth for the manufacture of traditional everyday clothing worn by most Huichol, and make it available locally at an affordable price. It enables them to continue their tradition of fine embroidery which otherwise could become a lost art. It provides jobs for Huichol, who often travel to the Pacific Coast working in tobacco fields where they are exposed to dangerous pesticides, and it helps keep their scarce monetary resources within the community.
